Binance Launchpad will host Open Campus (EDU) as its 31st project, with token sales conducted using the Launchpad subscription format. The sale is scheduled to begin on 23 April 2023 at UTC 00:00, with user BNB balances recorded for five days up to UTC 28 April 2023. Tokens will be allocated according to a maximum per-user hard cap of $15,000, totalling €2.5m. A total of 50,000,000 EDU tokens, equivalent to 5% of the total EDU token supply, will be allocated to Binance Launchpad. The sale format will be subscription only and BNB will be the only supported currency.
Open Campus aims to connect students with educators in a decentralised education platform; the project whitepaper describes it as “a blockchain-based education ecosystem that unlocks social and economic value through educational experiences and the creation of a community-driven digital diploma economy.”
The subscription timeline consists of a preparation period, during which user BNB balances will be calculated in hourly snapshots over five days. The subscription period itself will take place three hours after opening. Final token allocation will be calculated and the corresponding BNB will be deducted from already locked BNB amounts, after which EDU and BNB tokens will be transferred to the buyer’s spot wallet. Once a buyer has committed to buy, their BNB will be locked and no other functions such as transfers, withdrawals or trading will be usable until token distribution.
