The next Litecoin halving is expected to take place on August 3, 2023, according to Chinese blockchain explorer OKlink, with the block reward being reduced from 12.5 LTC to 6.25 LTC. Ahead of past halvings, there have been significant movements in Litecoin prices, sometimes leading Bitcoin’s rise, and as such, a move back above $100 could be on the cards. LTC prices peaked at an all-time high of $410 in May 2021, preceding the crypto market peak in November of that year, while it surged by 375% in 2019, prior to its halving that year. However, the coin spent the rest of 2019 declining, with its price not far off from when it began the year. At present, LTC is down 78.5% from its peak.
