The WOW (World of Web3) Summit held in Hong Kong in March 2023 was a successful event, the first and largest Web3-focused event in the Asia-Pacific region after the pandemic. The event was hosted by UVECON.VC, powered by GuyWay and MarketMakingPro, co-hosted by MaGESpire, and supported by the Hong Kong government’s Hong Tourism Board, InvestHK, and Financial Services Development Council. Attendees from across the globe, as well as 50+ sponsors, participated in two stages packed with valuable talks, fireside chats, keynotes, and panel discussions on blockchain adoption, regulations, tangible assets tokenization, and more.
The event also included start-up competitions, offering entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to pitch on stage in front of investors and VCs. AlterPay, a B2B payment solution, won first prize, while Booster Pool, which offers a protocol allowing for the automatic reinvestment of commissions in profits, won the popular vote. Cointelegraph, the General Media Partner of WOW Summit Hong Kong, and OLN, the WOW legal partner, provided support and prizes for the winners.
WOW Summit also launched its NFTs and tokens, with only 200 exclusive NFTs available at present. WOW NFT holders receive 10% rewards in WOW loyalty tokens linked to WOW events’ actual ticket sales turnover.
The Hong Kong event was a stage for demonstrating the determination of Hong Kong in the Web3 space, and the tremendous support of the Hong Kong government helped make the summit a huge success. The next WOW Summit will be in Dubai in October 2023, followed by Hong Kong in spring 2024.
