KuCoin, the cryptocurrency exchange, has said that its Twitter account was hacked, but attempts to steal digital assets through it were minimal. The exchange took back control of the account quickly and has promised to reimburse users who suffered any financial losses as a result of the hack, which lasted 45 minutes. The Twitter handle takeover was not linked to the digital assets on KuCoin and it is therefore possible that the hack was a case of an insider job. The company said it was enhancing cybersecurity on all its social media platforms, but did not offer any further details about the investigation into the breach. Meanwhile, the price of KuCoin’s native token KCS remained largely unaffected by the incident.
