Twitter and eToro have signed a deal which will allow users to trade assets through the social trading app. Through the partnership, users will be able to view market charts and buy and sell stocks and crypto. This is not Twitter’s first foray into finance: the platform already includes a feature that allows customers to view the market data of a company. The new move means that customers can click a button to trade a specific financial instrument. Yoni Assia, CEO of eToro, says he believes the partnership will enable the companies to reach new audiences and “connect better the brands of Twitter and eToro.” Twitter recently merged with a shell company, X Corp, and CEO Elon Musk has spoken previously about his desire to turn the app into a single super app that offers a range of services.
